Built by someone who's spent years staring at bad plots

I built DataCNVS because I kept running into the same problem across academic and industrial research: the tools for working with physical science data were built either for someone else's data or for someone else's workflow.

Spreadsheets and generic dashboards weren't built around experimental data. Instrument software was often tied to a particular instrument, file format, or lab. And when I needed to turn raw data into something I could actually reason about, share with a colleague, present, or publish, I found myself rebuilding the same workflow over and over.

So I built the tool I wished I had.

My background

I'm a materials scientist and software builder with a PhD from Imperial College London.

I was a post-doc at Imperial and MIT, a scientist at Corning, and later led software for TA Instruments at Waters Corporation.

DataCNVS brings those experiences together in a tool built for people who actually work with scientific data.

What I believe

Scientific data tools should be built around the way scientists actually work.

That means understanding experimental data rather than treating everything like a spreadsheet. It means making the path from raw data to a useful, publication-ready figure fast and predictable. And it means building software that helps scientists think, communicate, and collaborate without getting in the way.

DataCNVS is built with those principles in mind.
